Woodmere School -

The Woodmere School 3rd grade Young Leaders Club raised over $300 to help buy gifts for families who are struggling this holiday season. The program, spearheaded by Mrs. Phelps, the School Counselor, is intended to teach students leadership skills and engage them in projects to help make Woodmere School a wonderful place to learn and grow. All of the Young Leaders participated in this fundraiser by giving time from their recess and lunch to sell items with positive affirmations (stress balls, bracelets, and pens) to second and third grade students, families, and staff. The fundraiser exceeded expectations and the money will go a long way this holiday season. The students felt empowered by their success and they realized that helping others lifted them up and made them feel proud. The group will spread kindness and positivity as they continue to be role models and participate in various projects throughout the rest of the school year.
